First one to write on New Year Day...kiasu one.....another year older...Gosh!! coming to 50 soon...

W is working today so am now with the 3 spinsters.....had a lonely new eve celebration yesterday (sob sob) - VL working & the other 2 out to celebrate.

Wow! am impressed that SY is also skyping now....with YL, of course.

Apparently, SY & YL have made a pact....SY will work on her parents to migrate here (SY....Big Big impossible task!!) & YL on getting a dog....not a fair one!. I don't mind having one...but more of finding people to look after when we are not around.

Having a craving for Har Meen so will be having it for dinner today.....eat again!!

Mana all the Ngs & Mother Ng??? Be supportive la.......Jin, please teach her....time she catches up with technology....every time when I think something is mah fun, T will automatically appear in my mind & I will make a point to overcome this negative thinking.

New year resolution....less cooking & housework & more time for myself!!!

Just a short one today to make my mark. Today's the 4th day after returning from down under and we (at least I am) struggling to catch up with errands. Have a long list of to dos. Today is also NEW YEAR's EVE! not that we are soooo trendy but the media has caught on to me and I am getting abit upbeat about it too. More of an excuse to go on a holiday tomorrow.

Hey everyone...this is my first entry into the Chan Daily :) Yea, like Yen Li said, our house is so much quieter now but even with all the extra dishes to do and double the amount of clothes to fold, I love having the Ngans over. Also, having Meei Yee here and Jin was awesome too, especially since we haven't seen Jin for so long! Now, our house is like a hotel after the residents has left. Under Ms Chan Sow Leng's orders, we had to take out all our bed sheets, give the house a thorough vacuum, took out all the pillow covers in the living room and washed almost four loads of bedsheets and clothes yesterday. She's okay I think, probably knowing that she is most likely to go back in 6 months.

Today is Yu Li's birthday so we are going for Japanese food today. It should be great. We don't eat Japanese food outside often because it can be quite expensive. Thus, if we want to eat any Japanese food, we try to just make it ourselves. She's such a bum, asked her to go out to the movies today to see Vicky Cristina Barcelona but she said that she can't be bothered. Anyways, I gotta go fry dumplings now :) Take care! ^^

Whoa~ I can't believe it's been more than an entire month since all you guys came over, and left! It happened so quickly. It seemed like just two days ago that we finished our exams, Meei Yee came over, Jin, our results, Ngans... like domino blocks really and now everything's finished!

The house is strangely silent. Vei Li has gone to work, Yu Li is sleeping- again, and mum and dad are pottering around the garden. I miss the 'lau yik' atmostphere. Haha oh well won't be long before next December arrives and we'll all meet again before we know it. =)

I'm not sure if I've told the rest of you guys but I am now jobless. ='( Yeah how sad. I need to go look for another job soon, can't just lump around in front of the tv for the next 2 months! Well I got a 'Christmas Casual' position at 'The Body Shop'. The contract was supposed to last till the end of Jan but apparently they don't usually keep any casuals after Christmas... Oh well, I had lots of fun playing around with the makeup sets that they had there ^_^

How was everyone else's Christmas? For the first time ever, we actually opened our presents on the actual Christmas morning. LOL.

We also braved the crowd and bought some stuff during Boxing Day. Very satisfied =D


Anyways, hope to hear from at least some of you soon!

just wondering where are the ng's? we haven't got any posts from them yet?!?! how was meei yee's cooking club makan thingy? how was mr jin's interview as well?

we just went to a farm just now.. quite small.. wasn't really what i was expecting though. had lunch at lygon street but didn't get to eat gelati because that particular shop closes on a mon.. everyone is taking a nap now from the long day today.. i think? it's so hot as well!! 34 degrees today..

and just to make you guys 'lau hau sui' on our christmas menu, we have:

starters: mushroom soup

main: lamb chops

         prawn and mango salad

         baked potatoes

         asparagus

dessert: choc self saucing pudding

..not sure if i left out anything.. but i think that should be it :)

T is very docile & well behaved....lots of attention here.....had a good time with How Sim & her (saliva more than tea) husand - she was not keen to go initially but all dressed up this morning. She said to go when she comes again....but then said dont know if she has the chance.....she has the fear of death.

She seems to have stop her nonsence of not having son & "bad life" crap......initially, told me William seems to still like son.....but shut up when I inturn told her William was asking why she is so weird abt the son crap. I think she is lonely & wants attention.

I drag when sending her off to the airport....hopefully, telling her that we will see her in June helps. Will be taking her to the Vietnamese market tomorrow....Ngan kids very good appetite la.

T wants to eat meen fun kueh tomorrow....She will belanja Dim Sum on Sunday & we will celebrate Twins' results for dinner....makan again!!!

It is very lau yuik to have so many people around....KY's hands must be very rough now....she even washed toilet....after ??? years!

Hahaha, this was certainly a good idea... haven't heard from you all in *such* a long time!
Not much is going on here....
snow, snow, and more snow... We've got a pile more than a meter high infront of our house now, and the traffic is horrid! It takes more than an hour to go to school ... which usually takes like, 20 minutes!
I am getting off school soon - tomorrow is my last day.
Absolutely *cannot* wait for boxing day shopping! Yipee! Am looking forward to getting a nice pair of jeans.

Hi all!

Well this is The Chan Daily... our new family blog!

This makes it SO much easier to keep in touch, way faster than email... not that news doesn't already travel fast enough in our family, haha!

Anyway please add photos, daily updates on everyone and what's happening in each and every one of our lives.

Even the shortest of notes is very appreciated! =)

For those who are a little technologically backward (haha mum and dad!) it's really not that hard to learn... just play around with the settings and stuff or you can just ask me or any of the young(er) ones.

Anyway just a short post on what happened today:

Uncle Ngan arrived safely and the T made 10 eggs worth of kaya for us. (omg DROOL!)
The Ngans are going on a 3 day 2 night holiday tomorrow to a farmhouse...
Oh right, Kookyee, unclengan and SW got lost just now when we were on our daily walk. I swear I almost freaked out when I reached home and realised that they weren't home yet! So Yuli, Shanyi and I drove out and we met them halfway. Thank God we found them!

Anyway, lets see if the photos work...
